What this relationship builds on
Both put tangible gain first, spend little effort on justification, and can stop once they have what they want. Opportunist changes the conditions to create an opening; Raider applies direct pressure and takes the resource. They team up quickly, but split just as quickly if they never agreed on distribution.
How they see each other
Opportunist may appreciate Raider’s decisiveness, yet assume that the person who opened the door deserves the larger hidden share.
Raider may see Opportunist as a useful lockpick, but believe the person who actually carries the crate bears the real risk.
An alliance
With only minutes left, Opportunist breaks through the procedural constraint and Raider takes the target directly, allowing both to escape the deadlock quickly.
A rivalry
Once they are safe, Opportunist demands the larger share and Raider refuses to release the crate. Each defines contribution by the one crucial step they performed.
A close bond
As they leave the rooftop, Raider drapes the only raincoat over Opportunist’s shoulders, and Opportunist ties the spare rope back around Raider’s wrist. Each still controls a way out, yet they climb the wall together.
A turning point
The contents cannot be divided and require long-term upkeep, forcing what began as a one-off alliance into ongoing cooperation.
De-escalation & boundaries
Verify each person’s contribution and risk before dividing the gains under auditable rules. Neither may damage the shared result while the dispute continues.
