Character card / Control–Direct Pressure · Rulers
“You didn't lose just this time.”
In everyday life, these tendencies value final authority, speak directly, and rarely yield to conflict or disapproval.
In shadow mode, winning is not enough: punishment is used to prove that authority cannot be challenged. Confidence, toughness, and maintaining authority are not in themselves tyranny.
Handling conflict and making decisions under pressure can help you hold a course and keep a situation under control, provided power has clear limits and compliance is not followed by humiliation or retaliation.
When the problem is solved but action continues solely to remind everyone of the cost of challenging you, authority has exceeded what was necessary.
Like the Decider, the Tyrant takes direct, public control. The Tyrant, however, keeps making challengers pay after they lose. Like the Arbiter, the Tyrant values punishment, but relies less on institutional cover and more openly treats personal judgment as final.
